Mediation services are offered by Heather Gilchrist, Esq.

 

Heather Gilchrist is a Florida Supreme Court certified Circuit Civil Court and County Court Mediator specializing in disputes involving probate, trust and estate, real estate, contract and small business issues. With 35 years of experience as a lawyer practicing in those substantive areas, Heather is able to efficiently and comprehensively understand the issues in dispute. As a real estate investor herself, and having managed numerous estate issues, she is uniquely capable of understanding differing perspectives and facilitating the parties understanding of their opponent’s perspective so that a fair and expeditious resolution can be reached. During her career, Heather has been licensed and practiced in five states, has taught law school classes and published legal policy position articles. As such, Heather has a broad perspective and ability to find new ways to work through problems and resolve issues.

Education:  Kalamazoo College, BA 1979; Valparaiso University of Law, JD 1983.

Bar Admissions:  Florida Bar 1998.  Illinois Bar 1983, Indiana Bar 1983, Kentucky Bar 2011.
(Note: Currently in good standing but inactive in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky).

Certifications:  Florida Supreme Court Circuit Civil Mediator 2014, Florida Supreme Court County Mediator 2019.

Additional Mediation Education:  Elder Law Mediation and Shared Family Decision Making 2015.

Memberships:  Florida Academy of Professional Mediators, Collier County Bar Association.

Please note that although Heather has extensive years of experience as an attorney, in mediation she cannot represent or provide legal counsel to either party, in order to maintain impartiality and a fair process.
